Young Professional Rebecca Minte takes out 2020 Young Guns Award
Berkley Insurance Australia’s very own Rebecca Minte, was announced a winner of the highly coveted 2020 Young Guns Award from Insurance Business. Each year Insurance Business acknowledges 25 up-and-coming young insurance professionals who are standouts in the industry.
Rebecca has been taking the insurance industry by storm for the past five years and has delighted Berkley Insurance Australia with her passion and determination since October 2017.
We sat down with Rebecca to find out what makes her tick and why her colleagues have recognised her to become the next big thing in insurance.
“One of the most basic human emotional needs is acknowledgment and recognition of a job well done. I feel honoured to be recognised at this stage in my career by my peers in the industry. August marks the 5th anniversary of my Insurance life and I am more excited than ever to see what the next 5 years hold.”
Working from home has not stopped Rebecca from providing her clients with expert advice and support. Spending her days with customer service and efficiency at the forefront, Rebecca leaves no client behind, stating “I usually start by checking our online quoting portal and clearing any referrals that came in overnight. I’ll then spend the day answering email queries, quoting new business and policy renewals, answering calls and laughing at my own jokes.” Not one day is the same at BIA and Rebecca’s craving for a challenge keeps her low tolerance of tediousness at bay and every day she wakes up excited for what the new day will bring.
Her vibrant persona has been the perfect fit for our expert team of underwriters, they don’t say teamwork makes the dream work for nothing. At BIA working together and making everyone feel part of our work family is what makes the company special. “I remember one of the first things I noticed was how hard-working, knowledgeable and approachable the whole NSW team was. Berkley Insurance Australia has an excellent onboarding program for new starters and they really prioritise making sure you get to know everyone and ensure that you are set up to succeed.”
What many people don’t know, Rebecca is actually blind in her left eye meaning she has zero depth perception. But those curve balls cannot stop an adventurer at heart. Rebecca spends her downtime experimenting with different recipes, watching compelling documentaries and challenging her fitness, Rebecca says “I am the one in your workout class who tries to go heavier than everyone else then pretends she is okay”. Thriving for success is not nine to five, and those that challenge themselves in all aspects of life are those we want to watch closely in the future.
We are proud to have talent like Rebecca on our team and we wish her all the best for a bright and successful future in Insurance.
