This June Berkley Insurance Australia pledges to donate $1 from every Open Market Policy bound in June to the Dementia Australia supporting the Dementia Australia Research Foundation.

Dementia Australia support and empower the estimated 487,500 Australians living with dementia and almost 1.6 million Australians involved in their care. Dementia is the second leading cause of death in Australia yet remains one of the most challenging and misunderstood conditions.

Scientists are working hard to delay, prevent and ultimately find a cure for dementia. The major barriers to the development of new interventions and treatments in Australia are the lack of research capacity, funding, and infrastructure.

To give our best and brightest scientists a fighting chance against dementia, they need to maintain a level of funding that allows them to carry out their work. To achieve this, they need your help.

Dementia Australia Research Foundation funds researchers across all stages of their career as they strongly believe science holds the key to ending dementia.  Their annual grants program provides funding to support research into understanding the causes of dementia, strategies to reduce dementia risk, provide accurate and timely diagnoses, improve treatment and care options, and ultimately find a cure.
