BIA Announces Key Organisational Changes to Strengthen E-Business Strategy

Leading specialist insurance provider, Berkley Insurance Australia (BIA), announces strategic organisational changes to bolster its rapidly growing e-business distribution channels. These changes are reflective of BIA’s commitment to adapt to evolving market trends, particularly the shift towards e-business for SME customers.

Matthew McPhee, BIA’s National Underwriting Manager said, “In line with our vision for digital distribution, BIA is excited to announce the promotion of Kirsty Owens to the position of e-Business Manager reporting to CEO, Tony Wheatley. Kirsty, formerly the South Australian State Manager, will now dedicate her expertise full-time to augmenting the capabilities of BIA’s online and e-business portals. Her role will also involve exploring avenues for expanding BIA’s product and distribution horizons.”

Further strengthening the team, Kimberly Maisey has been promoted to the role of South Australian Manager reporting to National Underwriting Manager, Matthew McPhee.

Over recent years, BIA has been at the forefront of digital distribution innovation, commencing its online journey with the Steadfast Client Trading Platform providing General Liability and Professional Indemnity. This evolution saw the birth of the BindIT broker portal, introducing Information Technology Liability in 2020 followed by Management Liability, and most recently, Public & Products liability. Recognising the vast potential and the pace at which the online portals are growing, BIA is now channelling more resources to provide enhanced portfolio management, strategy, and focus to this pivotal distribution avenue.
