With deep technical expertise and decades of real‑world experience, the Berkley Insurance Australia claims team supports clients through some of their most critical moments always guided by integrity, empathy, and a commitment to doing the right thing. Here’s a closer look at the people behind the claims.

Gareth Edwards – National Head of Claims

Gareth Edwards leads Berkley Insurance Australia’s claims team nationally, bringing more than 20 years of industry experience across underwriting agencies, brokerages, and insurers. Beginning his career in 2001, Gareth has worked with clients across retail, SME, corporate, and government sectors.

An experienced litigator in third‑party liability claims, Gareth brings a strong legal and commercial perspective to claims management. He holds a Diploma of Financial Services through ANZIIF and degrees in Business and Law.

Andrew Clark – Claims Team Leader

Andrew Clark is a Claims Team Leader with over 15 years of experience specialising in financial lines and liability claims. He is known for his considered, fair approach and strong commitment to client outcomes.

Andrew was recognised by Insurance Business Magazine as a Young Gun in 2019 and a Rising Star in 2022. He has completed qualifications in Financial Services and General Insurance through ANZIIF and is completing qualifications in law.

Darren Quek – Claims Team Leader, Solicitor

Darren Quek is a Claims Team Leader and Solicitor with a strong background in insurance litigation and claims management. His career includes roles as an auditor, insurance litigator, and in‑house claims solicitor for a major Australian retailer.

At Berkley Insurance Australia, Darren manages claims nationally across professional indemnity, public liability, and management liability, bringing a strategic and commercially focused approach to achieving optimal outcomes.

When he is not managing claims, Darren enjoys attempting to play golf (without realising it is a way to ruin a good walk) and going fishing to catch that elusive ‘big fish’ or any fish.

Shirley Khoo – Senior Claims Adjuster

Shirley Khoo is a Senior Claims Adjuster with over 15 years of experience in financial lines claims. An admitted solicitor in New South Wales, Shirley holds a Master of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney.

Shirley brings a considered and empathetic approach to delivering fair and balanced claims outcomes.

Lincoln Menser – Senior Claims Adjuster

Lincoln Menser brings close to 30 years of insurance experience to his role as Senior Claims Adjuster. His background spans statutory, first‑party, and third‑party claims across retail, SME, corporate, local government, and the housing industry.

With extensive litigation experience and a strong customer service focus, Lincoln is known for his collaborative approach. He has completed Financial Services qualifications through ANZIIF.

Abhishek Chaudhary – Senior Claims Adjuster

Abhishek Chaudhary is a Senior Claims Adjuster with several years of experience within the insurance industry. He brings strong analytical capability supported by a Master of Accounting, combined with a genuine focus on empathy and communication.

Abhishek manages claims across multiple lines of Berkley Insurance Australia’s business, with clear and proactive engagement at the centre of his approach.

Amandeep Kainth – Multi Lines Claims Adjuster

Aman Kainth is a Multi Lines Claims Adjuster specialising in liability claims. He joined Berkley Insurance Australia in 2022 and holds a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Accounting.

Known for his attention to detail and empathetic approach, Aman delivers personalised service and effective claim resolutions for clients.

Alex Burrows – Multi Line Claims Adjuster

Alex Burrows is a Multi Line Claims Adjuster with a background in legal analysis, compliance, and dispute resolution. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the Australian National University and is soon to be admitted as a solicitor in NSW.

Alex brings a meticulous and client‑focused approach to claims, supporting fair and efficient outcomes. Outside of work, he enjoys watching test cricket, going scuba diving and playing pickleball.

Andy Taylor – Claims Adjuster

Andy Taylor is a Claims Adjuster based in the Sydney office, with over 20 years of experience in reinsurance claims. His background includes handling claims across medical malpractice, professional indemnity, public liability, and property.

Andy joined Berkley in March 2025, bringing a strong customer focus and collaborative mindset. Outside work, he enjoys cycling, kayaking, swimming, and running.

Laura Field – Junior Multi Lines Claims Adjuster

Laura Field is a Junior Multi Lines Claims Adjuster, bringing a unique background in environmental sustainability, finance, and agriculture. She previously worked in stockbroking and grew up on a sheep station in rural New South Wales.

Quick to learn and motivated, Laura applies a thoughtful and practical approach as she continues to develop her claims expertise.

Kim Rowland – Claims Administrator

Kim has supported the Claims Team since 2022 and her role ensures that daily claims administration processes run smoothly. Kim previously worked as a HR Administrator at Berkley, and prior to joining the company had several years of experience with administrative and accounts roles in the banking, life insurance and gaming industries. Outside of work Kim enjoys music, watching various sports, and travelling.

Merry Khouw – Claims Administrator

Merry has nearly 20 years of experience in administration and accounts in the insurance industry. With a keen eye for detail, her role ensures the claims team runs smoothly. Outside the office, she enjoys exploring Sydney’s vibrant food scene and travelling.
