Jason Tomerini
State Manager - WA
Jason joined the Berkley Insurance Australia team in 2014 and has been in the Insurance Industry since 1993, holding various roles with:
- SGIO
- Mercantile Mutual
- Aon
- AIG
Jason believes strongly in the fundamentals of insurance, the promise it delivers & value of exceptional service.
He is a devoted family man, his wife is from Prague, in the Czech Republic and they share a daughter & son together. As a family, they enjoy travelling specifically to the Czech Republic visiting their extended family.
Jason’s major hobby and enjoyment is playing golf having been a member of The Vines Golf & Country Club in the Swan Valley from 2006.
Valerie Keown
Senior Financial Lines & Liability Underwriter
Valerie has 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry specialising in financial lines. Throughout her extensive career, Valerie has worked in a variety of roles across broking and underwriting in both Australia and New Zealand. Her experience in all sides of the insurance business enables her to provide expert advice to clients.
Valerie is an active member of ANZIIF and has completed a Certificate IV in General Insurance.
Adelle Timmins
National Head of Public & Products Liability
Adelle started her career in customer service before taking on an underwriting role in 2004, initially specialising in Workers Compensation then moving into Commercial Insurance five years later. Having spent time underwriting a range of commercial products for some of Australia’s largest insurers, she brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team at Berkley Insurance Australia when she joined in 2017 as a Liability Underwriter.
Adelle is now the National Head of Public & Products Liability for BIA based in Perth, and thanks to her technical underwriting skills, dedicated customer focus, and passion for building strong relationships, she has earned a reputation for delivering excellent service.
Outside of work hours Adelle can be found in the garden making the most of the beautiful WA weather, spending time with friends and family, or out indulging her passion for all things music and pop culture.
Andrea Day
Liability Underwriter
Andrea began her career in insurance in 2012 with WFI Insurance, where she worked as a Service Consultant and assisted the Area Managers with commercial and residential policies. In July 2016, she joined Berkley Insurance Australia in Perth as a Business Support officer. Over the years, she advanced to the role of Assistant Underwriter in July 2020. Now, in her fifth year as a Liability Underwriter, she handle all aspects of General Liability Insurance including our online systems, BindIT and SCTP for the WA team.
Jo Thorsen
Underwriting Assistant
Jo commenced her career with Berkley Insurance Australia in 2021 as a Business Support Officer (BSO) in Perth. In May 2023, she transitioned into the E‑Business Team as an E‑Business Support Officer and Assistant Underwriter, further expanding her experience within the business.
Prior to joining Berkley, Jo worked with an insurer in the building repairs sector, gaining valuable technical experience that she now brings to her current role.
Jo is committed to delivering a high standard of customer service. She strongly believes that the people of Berkley are the foundation of its supportive work environment.
Outside of work, Jo enjoys spending time near the beach or camping around Western Australia with her husband and their Staffy, Bo.
