Kirsty Owens
National Head of E-Business
Kirsty Owens brings over 20 years of expertise in Professional Indemnity (PI), Directors & Officers (D&O), and Public Liability (PL) insurance. Her career includes significant roles at leading underwriting and brokerage firms in both Australia and London.
Previously serving as the State Manager for South Australia, Kirsty led a proficient team of underwriters, addressing the complex insurance needs of brokers and clients in Adelaide. Now, as the National Head of e-Business, she leverages her extensive industry knowledge to drive the strategic growth and management of Berkley Insurance Australia’s e-business distribution channels.
Kirsty holds both a Business Degree and a Master’s Degree, and is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF). Her role highlights BIA’s commitment to innovative digital solutions in the insurance sector.
Juan Sandoval Toro
E-Business Underwriting Assistant
Juan joined the team in July 2025 as an Underwriting Assistant and has quickly made a strong impression with his curiosity, energy, and commitment to learning. He’s particularly drawn to the fast-paced nature of underwriting and is focused on building lasting client relationships while gaining a deeper understanding of insurance systems and processes.
Known for his enthusiasm and positive attitude, he’s eager to grow his career in the industry and contribute to the team’s success.
Outside the office, you’ll likely find him exploring new places, on the soccer field, or hitting the tennis court, always staying active and bringing that same team spirit to everything he does.
Juan holds a Bachelor of Economics and Business from Icesi University, Colombia.

e-Business Business Support Officer
William brings a diverse background in customer service, audio production, manufacturing, and insurance. Beginning his career in a family-run hospitality business, he developed a strong service ethos before progressing into technical and creative roles. Now part of Berkley Insurance Australia’s e-Business division, William applies his expertise to deliver efficient, customer-focused digital solutions for brokers.
