Kimberly Maisey
State Manager SA
With 20 years insurance industry experience, Kimberly joined Berkley Insurance Australia in January 2019 as a Financial Lines Underwriter and has a proven track record in underwriting.
Prior to joining Berkley, Kimberly held a very long and well established underwriting career at QBE which saw her underwrite a variety of insurance products.
Kimberly has excellent communication skills which is demonstrated by the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and hold long standing client relationships within the Insurance Industry.
Whilst known to have a competitive streak (both personally and professionally), Kimberly thoroughly enjoys a challenge and is a very dedicated, self-driven and focused individual who is organised, disciplined and goal oriented.
Outside of work, she is supermum to her two children and superwife to her husband and if she isn’t at home you will find her either shopping, F45’ing or on a walk exploring beautiful South Australia.
Darren Mellor
Senior Underwriter
With over 30 years of experience within the insurance industry across the UK and Australia, Darren brings a depth of knowledge and perspective to Berkley Insurance Australia.
His career spans both broking and underwriting, giving him a well-rounded understanding of the market from multiple angles and enabling him to deliver practical, balanced solutions for clients and partners alike.
Darren started his career with a local UK brokerage and helped grow the business to a national operation with wholesale capability for multiple products to multiple brokers. After remaining with the same company for 17 years, he moved to Australia in 2012 and held positions with OAMPS and Arthur J Gallagher, before moving to Vero and then more recently Ansvar, where he spent nearly 6 years.
Darren has developed a reputation for building strong relationships, navigating complex risks, and consistently delivering outcomes that align with client’s needs. His cross market experience has also allowed him to adapt to evolving industry dynamics while maintaining a strong focus on professionalism, integrity, and service excellence.
Outside of work, Darren is passionate about staying active and connected to the outdoors. He enjoys hiking and exploring walking trails in the hills, and has a keen interest in travel, always looking for new places to discover and experiences to enjoy.
Tayler Crease
Liability Underwriter
With five years of experience in the insurance industry, Tayler joined Berkley as a Liability Underwriter in October 2026. Prior to joining Berkley, she held a dual broking and underwriting role at Primassure, specialising predominantly in Jewellers Block underwriting. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for underwriting and decided to pursue it as her primary career path.
Tayler began her insurance career with Gallagher, where she spent three years as a broker, building a strong foundation in client relationships and risk management.
Outside of work, Tayler enjoys reading, spending relaxing days at the beach, and attending concerts and music festivals.
